Kieran Culkin, celebrated for his role in "Succession," won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in "A Real Pain." His acceptance speech was marked with humor, notably calling out fellow actor Adrien Brody about the speech time limit in a joking manner. Culkin honored his co-stars and family during his speech, highlighting his deep connections, while his acclaimed performance has earned him multiple prestigious nominations, including an upcoming Academy Award nod.
"Thank you for this incredibly heavy award," Culkin said as he held up his statue on stage at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium. "I don't think there's any way anyone can hold this for 45 seconds ... which is the allotted time, Adrien Brody. 45 seconds," he added.
Culkin shouted out several other people during his speech, including his "A Real Pain" co-star Jesse Eisenberg, who also directed and wrote the film, and his wife, Jazz Charton, and their kids.
Culkin's performance in the film has earned him a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award, as well as a nomination at the upcoming Academy Awards.
"It was one of the very, very, very rare scripts that I laughed out loud reading," Culkin said about the movie in an interview with Vulture in Oct. 2024.
