Harvey Weinstein was convicted of rape and sexual assault in 2023. Dench says she knew Weinstein professionally, experienced nothing similar, and empathises with his victims while expressing that she imagines he has done his time and framing the matter as personal forgiveness. Weinstein responded via a spokesperson noting long incarceration and denying some accusations.
