Grey, 65, is officially confirmed to once again play her Golden Globe-nominated role of Frances Baby Houseman in Dirty Dancing 2, written by Kim Rosenstock and scheduled to start filming later in 2026, The Wrap reports."

Grey will serve as one of the executive producers on the project. Lionsgate says a "super team" is in place and production is moving full steam ahead toward a new theatrical release. The original 1987 film was directed by Emile Ardolino and written by Eleanor Bergstein, set at the Kellerman's Catskills resort where Baby falls for dance instructor Johnny. Patrick Swayze, who played Johnny, died in 2009, and Johnny's role in the sequel remains unclear. Dirty Dancing won the Oscar for Best Original Song and has had several adaptations, including stage shows, a 1988 TV series, the 2004 film Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, and a 2017 ABC musical remake.
