
The inaugural Wexford French Film Festival was officially launched by the French Embassy in Ireland and Screen Wexford in collaboration with Alliance Française Waterford/Wexford. The festival took place at the Wexford Arts Centre and presented a curated selection of French cinema focused on storytelling, culture, and creativity across borders. The opening night screened The Ties That Bind Us (L'Attachement), the César Awards 2026 Best Film winner. The programme included six films across comedy, drama, and fiction, plus contemporary and classic works, short films, and a dedicated schools screening. Organisers aimed to offer something for everyone and included 50/50 representation of female directors. The second festival is planned for January 2027.
