How Bobbie Mangini Balances Hollywood Dreams and Community Work
"Not at all. I started out working in HR after college, then switched to bartending and waitressing. I was a single mum, so I needed jobs that gave me time with my kids. Acting was always something I loved, but I had to put it on hold."
"In 1998, I enrolled at Act One Studio in Chicago. I trained there for two years, then continued at Acting Studio Chicago."
"She speaks openly about resilience in a tough industry, sharing lessons from the many "no's" she's received and the faith that keeps her grounded. "Success to me isn't about money," she says. "It's about how many people you serve.""
Bobbie Mangini earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Anthropology with minors in Psychology and Criminal Justice. She worked in human resources and hospitality to raise two children as a single mother while maintaining a passion for acting. She trained at Act One Studio and Acting Studio Chicago, later training with Sean Kanan and splitting time between Los Angeles and Illinois to pursue acting full-time. She served on the board of FISH Food Pantry, founded Operation Santa to provide toys to hundreds of children, and supports redHOT for Change, a fundraiser for survivors of domestic violence. She emphasizes resilience and service over monetary success.
