Disney will release a pro shot of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical Hamilton in theaters to celebrate its tenth anniversary. This theatrical version will begin screening on September 5 and will include a new prologue titled Reuniting the Revolution, which features interviews with the cast and creators. The goal of filming was to capture the essence of the live Broadway experience. Additionally, Hamilton remains available on Disney+ and continues to be staged live on Broadway and on tour.
When we filmed Hamilton, we wanted to try to capture the feeling of being in the Richard Rodgers Theatre during that first year on Broadway, and we're thrilled that audiences will now have the opportunity to experience it on the big screen.
The release will include a new prologue, Reuniting the Revolution, that features interviews with the cast and creators from the show.
