"Georges Simenon's celebrated - and very 20th-century - pipe-smoking detective is transplanted into the early 2000s for this updated version of the 1960 novel Maigret et les Vieillards, in which he investigates the murder of a former French ambassador, who had been having a long affair with a noted royal, whose husband had also recently died."
"Christa Theret was nominated for a Cesar in 2009 for their breakout role as the eponymous Lol in this archetypal - and possibly even seminal - rites of passage, messy teen relationships comedy drama heavily inspired by the 1980 hit La Boum, which starred Sophie Marceau - who is on fine form here as Theret's mixed-up mother."
"Arnaud Desplechin's tangled, parallel-lives tale of of two former lovers: a single mother (Emmanuelle Devos) who must take care of her dying father, and a brilliant-but-troubled musician (Mathieu Amalric) locked up in a psychiatric hospital, plotting his escape."
