"It's massive for us. It's the second Irish language film ever and the third Irish language film to make the shortlist after An Cailín Cúin last year as well too, and it's massive for the Irish language community," the former teacher said.
"It's great that minority languages and cultures are having a bit of a revival now and people are getting back to their roots. People from indigenous cultures and communities around the world have been resonating with it and connecting with their own heritage."
"Acting's really easy. All these posh people spending fifty grand of their dad's money going to drama school, and three working class lads from Derry and Belfast rock up and get all these awards, so they probably have to up their game a wee bit."
