"It's so important that we see representations of ourselves on screen, and so I dug deep to find most of the films," Olson told the Chronicle from her home in Berkeley.
"The theme of the series is specifically butch dykes and trans men (and) not everyone is familiar with this concept or the acronym AFAB, assigned female at birth.
Dunye, who's delighted that Olson was able to secure the film for 'Masc II,' plans to be in attendance when 'Stranger Inside' screens on Sunday, Jan. 19.
The 2001 drama made for HBO garnered four Film Independent Spirit nominations and won an audience award at the San Francisco International Film Festival but disappeared when its run on the then premium cable service ended.
