A landmark of queer cinema, 'High Art' has never looked better
Briefly

Cholodenko recounted, "I remember getting out of a town car with Ally Sheedy at the Castro Theatre; it was exciting, it was chic. I lived on Castro Street when I was a student at SF State, so I was like, 'Wow, I'm coming home.'"
Since its premiere, "High Art" has become a queer indie classic, while Cholodenko has directed several acclaimed films, connecting her career to the evolution of queer cinema.
Frameline has further grown beyond the longest running LGBTQ+ film festival to fulfill its mission dedicated to funding, distributing, restoring, and amplifying queer films.
On Nov. 2, Frameline will debut the new 4k restoration of 'High Art' at the San Francisco Modern Museum of Art's Phyllis Wattis Theater with Cholodenko in attendance.
