Nike is overhauling its road running shoe catalog for 2025, simplifying options by introducing a streamlined three-tier system: Icon, Plus, and Premium. This new lineup focuses on three core models: Pegasus, Vomero, and Structure, each tailored for different running styles. The distinct tiers offer a clear choice for different skill levels, with the Icon as the foundational model, Plus introducing performance upgrades, and Premium showcasing innovative technologies. Nike aims to provide runners with a more intuitive experience, eliminating the confusion of a complex product range to streamline their shoe selection.
According to Nike's senior director of running footwear product, Marian Dougherty, "Runners just want a shoe that feels right for their daily runs. They don't want to overthink it."
The Icon level represents the core version of each shoe, the reliable workhorse that many are already familiar with-like the beloved Pegasus 41 or the newly updated Vomero 18.
