Salomon Sportstyle Japan collaborated with Kyoto artist Uchida Ryunosuke to launch the ultra-limited RX SLIDE 3.0 "UCHI". This version, inspired by pine needles, focuses on minimalism devoid of bold branding. The launch event, held at Ace Hotel Kyoto, encouraged community involvement, featuring natural dyeing sessions that mirrored the sneaker's design ethos. Attendees received one of the only 100 pairs produced, highlighting process and community over commercialism. This approach reflects a shift in sneaker culture, valuing craftsmanship and engagement over hype.
Uchi's design philosophy is grounded in organic forms, tactility, and subtle detail, exemplified by the RX SLIDE 3.0 "UCHI" which embodies thoughtful minimalism and celebration of texture.
The RX SLIDE 3.0 "UCHI" release was marked by a community-centered event, emphasizing craft and participation, rather than traditional commercial marketing approaches.
