Is the Veja Fitz Roy the best trail-to-city pavement shoe?
Briefly

The trail and hiking shoe market is rapidly growing, fueled by increased interest in active lifestyles. Veja, a French brand founded in 2004, has become a favorite among celebrities while emphasizing sustainable production. They use bio-based materials sourced from Brazil and Peru. Recently, Veja launched their first sandal, the ETNA, and a group of journalists celebrated its debut by hiking Mount Etna in the brand's Fitz Roy hiking shoes. Despite a recent eruption and unfavorable weather conditions, the hike reflects Veja's commitment to stylish yet functional outdoor footwear.
I opted for a collab pair designed with the outdoor brand, Buff, simply because I enjoyed the rather jazzy colour scheme.
It makes all its shoes from regenerated and responsibly sourced bio-based materials cultivated on managed plantations in Brazil and Peru.
The brand's founding mantra is a commitment to production methods and models that are kind to Mother Earth.
In May, the brand launched its first ever sandal - the ETNA - and to mark the occasion a few fellow scribblers and I travelled to Sicily.
