"Nearly two decades ago, artist Lewis Teague Wright registered a website called Fervent Moon, where each day, a new MP3 was uploaded only to vanish after a week. The fleeting digital archive then evolved into a long-running monthly NTS radio show, which came to function as a personal time capsule. "They play a large role as anchors for my emotional memory," he reflects."
"Wright's background lies in the art world, where his practice moves between embroidered works punctuated with Polaroids and photographs, video pieces developed in collaboration with musicians, and large-scale sculpture. "But I always found there was this disconnect between the physicality of art and video art - they can't be touched," he explains. "Wearable products really aligned and filled the void that I had been missing previously.""
Fervent Moon is Lewis Teague Wright's jewellery label that extends his long-running Fervent Moon NTS radio show into physical objects. Nearly two decades ago Wright began a website uploading ephemeral daily MP3s that evolved into a monthly NTS show serving as a personal time capsule and anchor for emotional memory. Wright's art practice spans embroidered works with Polaroids, collaborative video pieces, and large-scale sculpture. He perceived a disconnect between the untouchable nature of video art and physical artworks, leading him to pursue wearable jewellery. His parents' decades-long jewellery trade informed his practice and family support facilitates his reinterpretation of craft. The jewellery unites audio, visual, and physical modes.
