Hansi Flick expressed satisfaction with Barcelona's progressing attacking style following a dominant 4-1 victory over Girona. The match highlighted flickering brilliance, with Girona's initial tenacity countered by Lewandowski's two goals, which sealed the win. Barcelona's aggregate scoring soared to 139 goals in 45 matches, the most ever in LaLiga history for such a span. Flick praised his team's relentless pursuit of goals, recognizing both their offensive creativity and Girona's commendable defensive efforts in the first half, as they deflected multiple scoring chances.
"This reflects our idea, we want to attack. We want to create chances - not just chances to score, but to create chances constantly," Flick told reporters.
"When you watch our counter-attack, I didn't just see the striker or the attacking midfielder, but even (central midfielder) Frenkie de Jong was running really fast."
"I think the first half was very good. Maybe we missed (the opportunity to score) one or two more goals, but we have to admit that Girona defended very well," Flick said.
"They know how to keep the ball, they are excellent in possession."
