The deal to send San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper Emmanuel Ochoa to Liga MX side Cruz Azul is reportedly in jeopardy, as sources indicate last-minute issues arose.
Ochoa, a 19-year-old goalkeeper, was looking forward to a $2 million transfer after traveling to Mexico, but is now heading back to San Jose.
Having signed with the Quakes as a 14-year-old, Ochoa has yet to play in an MLS league match despite being a promising talent from the academy.
Competing for first-team time will be tough for Ochoa, as the Quakes have recently acquired Earl Edwards in addition to having Daniel as their starting goalkeeper.
