"I hope I never leave Barca. I hope to be a legend at Barcelona," he told Spanish television show El Hormiguero.
"Being compared to the best in history is incredible. It means you're doing something right. Comparing yourself to him is very difficult. I try to be myself and be remembered as Lamine."
"[I don't think I will win]. But it's good to warm up, let's see if I have a chance at some point," Yamal said when asked about his Kopa Trophy nomination.
Yamal has enjoyed a successful start to the 2024/25 campaign, having already registered one goal and four assists in as many games this season.
