Jorge Martin of Spain wins 2024 MotoGP championship in Barcelona
Briefly

Jorge Martin, racing for Prima Pramac, became the first Independent rider to be crowned World Champion in the MotoGP era by finishing third at the season finale.
Heading into the final race, Martin led by 19 points and needed a top-nine finish to secure his title despite Bagnaia winning the race.
Despite Bagnaia's 11th victory of the season at the Solidarity Grand Prix, Martin's impressive tally of 32 podiums throughout the season clinched him the championship.
Even while battling for podium positions, Martin held steady in third place, allowing him to complete the race without any pressure in securing the championship.
