Slamming Levy's decision, Lloris told The Guardian: "We do all have one engraved memory, though. Four days before the final, Daniel Levy called us all together to announce that, with the support of a sponsor, we would each receive a luxury aviator watch from the club. At first, we were excited to see the elegant boxes. Then we opened them and discovered that he'd had the back of each timepiece engraved with the player's name and Champions League Finalists. It was time to reflect on what could have been, but it was a peculiar gesture and did not sit well with the players."
Lloris continued his criticism, explaining the emotional weight of the gesture: "Four days before we had the chance to achieve something extraordinary, we received a reminder of being finalists instead of champions. It felt bizarre to have something permanent that highlighted our failure, rather than celebrating our journey. It was a moment that should have been about looking forward to greatness, not being reminded of what we hadn’t accomplished yet."
