Darwin Nunez has been suspended for five international matches due to his involvement in a violent incident during a Copa America semi-final against Colombia.
The disciplinary action follows a brawl triggered by alleged harassment of Uruguay players' families by Colombia fans, leading to player confrontations in the stands.
Nunez’s suspension will prevent him from participating in crucial World Cup qualifiers; his only match return option is against Brazil on November 16.
In addition to Nunez, CONMEBOL imposed fines and suspensions on several other Uruguayan players for their roles in the unsanctioned venue scuffle.
