Robert Lewandowski has fewer than six months remaining on the four-year contract signed with FC Barcelona in 2022. From 1 January he will be free to negotiate with other clubs as he approaches free agency. Teams from the MLS, including Chicago Fire, Turkish side Fenerbahçe, and clubs in the Saudi Pro League have shown interest. League officials plan to hold talks with his agent, Pini Zahavi, to assess possibilities. Lewandowski is 37, says he does not feel pressured to decide quickly, is not discussing interest with his coach, and will choose based on club wishes and his own view of what is best.
