FC Porto has appointed Martin Anselmi as the new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract, following the departure of Vitor Bruno due to a poor run of form. Bruno's tenure ended after just 11 wins in 29 matches, including three consecutive defeats. Anselmi, who previously managed Cruz Azul in Liga MX, had a successful coaching stint there after leading Independiente del Valle to multiple victories. He arrives with a solid win percentage and hopes to revitalize Porto's performance in both domestic and European competitions.

His tenure ending with three straight defeats in all competitions, Bruno was relieved of his duties last week following a poor run of form.
Anselmi arrives from Liga MX side Cruz Azul, a club he joined just over a year ago, following a successful spell with Independiente del Valle.
The 39-year-old won four major honours during his time in charge of La Maquina, including leading them to the Copa Sudamericana title after beating Sao Paulo in the final in 2022.
