Winning combination for sports-related shoulder injuries
Briefly

"Patients who dislocate their shoulder have a high risk of doing it again within six months, and can suffer from recurrent instability," said Dr. Timothy Lathlean.
"Our analysis found those who embarked on a robust exercise program after surgery were twice as likely to avoid a recurrent injury than those who used exercise alone to recover from their injury."
The review focused on patients who suffered from first-time shoulder dislocations due to a direct blow to the shoulder, often while playing sports or in workplace accidents. Young males between 16 and 30 are particularly susceptible to this type of injury.
