Anna Meyer transformed her tiny 200-square-foot studio apartment kitchen into a cozy and charming nook through creative, renter-friendly decor. Although not allowed to make major changes, she used olive green curtains to define the space and added visual interest. By using picture hanging hooks and clear string for installation, she avoided drilling into walls. Furthermore, she painted a backsplash with a custom color using mixed acrylic paints due to the unavailability of matching peel-and-stick tiles. Anna draws inspiration from Nancy Meyers, aiming for a warm and inviting kitchen aesthetic.
I used picture hanging hooks and some clear string meant for hanging frames. I threaded the string through the curtains and tied them to the hooks. It's not the most professional job but saved me from buying a curtain rod and drilling into the wall.
I painted the backsplash because I couldn't find a peel-and-stick tile that was exactly the color I was envisioning. I mixed together some brown and green acrylic paint until I got a shade I liked.
