The article discusses how to reinvent old kitchen appliances as stylish decor instead of replacing them due to budget constraints. Designer Jessica Jubelirer exemplifies this by wrapping an outdated refrigerator in vintage-inspired fabrics, creating a unique centerpiece in her family’s Wisconsin lake house kitchen. The project reflects a desire to maintain mid-century modern aesthetics while showcasing a playful, family-friendly environment. Despite supply chain issues preventing the purchase of a new fridge, Jubelirer’s creative approach revitalizes the kitchen space beautifully.
"When my family purchased our summer cottage, I decided to wrap the existing refrigerator in hand-blocked English fabrics to liven up the blank kitchen space," says Jubelirer.
"I wanted to cultivate a look that married the structure's mid-century modern architecture with relaxed, family-ready charm," Jubelirer shares.
Instead of resigning to an outdated fridge, Jubelirer transformed it with vintage-inspired prints, creating a playful centerpiece in her family's kitchen.
Supply chain issues prevented a new fridge, so Jubelirer creatively enhanced her existing appliance by giving it a fabric facelift.
