Project Europe has been launched to support young founders under 25 by providing €200,000 in investment and mentorship, thereby aiming to enhance Europe's tech startup landscape. The initiative comes as a response to the perception that Europe's tech scene lags behind that of the US. Run by 20VC, Adjacent, and Point9 Ventures, it seeks to nurture a new generation of entrepreneurs, emphasizing the need for collaboration and mentorship within the community to avert missing out on local talent and innovation.
We've seen so many talented people build in Europe. The shame is, there seems to be this dismissal that Europe is a good place for them to be building - and so it means that actually, we're missing out on a lot of that growing ecosystem around technology, as it's hyper-concentrated in certain areas in the world.
Actually, because this is such a grassroots movement, we're trying to change the culture and the approach to entrepreneurship in Europe. It makes sense to focus on people who are young, technical, and hyper-ambitious.
