The rapid growth of technology has led to a significant rise in e-waste, which reached 62 million tons in 2022 and is projected to increase to 82 million tons by 2030. Currently, less than a quarter of e-waste is recycled. Amid this crisis, companies like Vonmühlen are steps ahead, offering gadgets crafted from recycled materials. Their new Evergreen Mag power bank, featuring a 37% recycled content, showcases this commitment to sustainability while providing practical functionality. Its light and thin design, coupled with impressive charging capabilities, highlights a movement towards eco-friendly technology solutions.
The tech explosion has vastly outstripped our ability to recycle tech once it reaches the end of its life.
Although it's not yet commercially available in the U.S., my hope is that covering it will inspire market changes.
The Evergreen Mag looks much like every other MagSafe power bank, but it's made of 37% recycled materials.
In terms of sustainability, its recycled materials include recycled aluminum, recycled PC + ABS, and recycled cobalt.
