Beagle, based in Hamburg, has developed long-range drones designed for inspecting energy infrastructure, raising a total of €5 million for expansion. Co-founder Oliver Lichtenstein emphasized the drone's ability to autonomously operate in compliance with EU airspace regulations. Their model allows clients to pay per kilometer of pipeline inspected, positioning Beagle as cashflow positive within Germany. Driven by technological advancements, Beagle's drones provide superior data resolution compared to satellites and promise lower emissions and costs, highlighting an innovative alternative to traditional inspection methods such as helicopters.
"Our customers pay us for the data by the kilometer of pipeline. We're cashflow positive in Germany with the current team and operations," Co-founder Oliver Lichtenstein states.
Beagle claims to have 75 times the resolution of satellites, is cheaper, has lower emissions than planes, and is permitted to fly long-range repeatedly.
