Samsung changes Galaxy Store revenue share model, offers developers an 80%/20% split
Briefly

Samsung is adjusting the Galaxy Store's service fee structure to better accommodate app and game developers. Starting May 15, developers will receive 80% of their revenue while the Galaxy Store will retain just 20%. This is a shift from the previous 70%/30% split. The change applies to all paid apps, including games, themes, and in-app purchases. Unlike the Google Play Store, which charges a higher fee for developers, Samsung's new structure is likely an attempt to lure in developers who are dissatisfied with current fee arrangements, especially in light of Epic Games' ongoing disputes with major platform fees.
Starting May 15, developers on the Galaxy Store will retain 80% of their revenue, marking a significant change from the current 70%/30% split.
With the intention of attracting new developers, Samsung’s Galaxy Store aims to keep existing ones satisfied by adjusting their service fee structure.
Epic Games previously removed Fortnite from major platforms due to unfavorable fees, but will likely not return to the Galaxy Store despite the new split.
Samsung's fee change positions it more favorably compared to Google Play, which has a similar split but offers better rates for smaller developers.
