Rotterdam-based startup umob has raised €3.5 million in funding to expand its Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform throughout Europe, following a previous €6 million round. The funds will enable umob to grow in major cities and strengthen partnerships with international providers like Dott and Lime. Launched in February 2024, the platform offers access to over 500,000 shared mobility vehicles and integrates multiple transport modes in a single application. Additionally, umob's acquisition of MaaS Global enhances its capabilities in the MaaS market by incorporating advanced booking technologies.
Since launching in February 2024, umob has experienced strong growth domestically and expanded into key European markets, including Germany, France, and Spain.
The platform allows users to plan and pay for journeys through one application, even when involving multiple transportation methods, fully integrating all transport modes.
The demand for MaaS solutions is growing as cities face increasing challenges managing limited urban space while pursuing sustainability goals.
The acquisition of Finnish company MaaS Global has brought the 'Whim' app technology to umob's platform, boosting its capabilities in the MaaS sector.
