British startup Outpost raises 15M to make international selling as simple as domestic commerce

Outpost, founded in 2024, addresses the operational challenges merchants face when selling internationally by acting as the legally responsible entity for payments, tax, and compliance in each jurisdiction. Rather than processing transactions cross-border, Outpost processes them locally, which increases payment approval rates by approximately 10% and reduces processing costs. This structural approach recovers revenue merchants were previously losing. The company secured a €15 million Series A led by Ribbit, with participation from Better Tomorrow Ventures and angels from Revolut, Uber, Affirm, Airwallex, and Checkout.com. Funding will support jurisdictional expansion, product development, and team scaling. Outpost operates within the Merchant of Record model, where a third party assumes legal responsibility for sales in specific markets on behalf of merchants.
