Tozero, a Munich-based startup, recently closed an oversubscribed €11 million seed round to build their first industrial plant for recycling lithium-ion batteries, aiming for unlimited capacity.
Co-founder Dr. Sarah Fleischer notes that their efficient technology allows them to scale without needing vast amounts of funding, unlike competitors pursuing industrial plants.
Dr. Ksenija Milicevic Neumann stated that the goal of their first-of-a-kind plant is to enable continuous production and facilitate expansive growth in battery recycling.
Fleischer emphasized that achieving operational success with the plant will allow Tozero to significantly scale and expand operations globally, starting in Europe and then North America.
