The UK has imposed new sanctions on a Russian entity for transferring chemical weapons to be used in Ukraine. Aleksey Viktorovich Rtishchev and his deputy Andrei Marchenko have had their assets frozen. The Joint Stock Company Federal Scientific and Production Centre Scientific Research Institute of Applied Chemistry has also been sanctioned for supplying chemical agent grenades. Using these grenades in Ukraine contravenes the Chemical Weapons Convention. Two British residents have sent over $120 million of electronics to Russia, which has been highlighted by the Prime Minister and Sir Keir Starmer.
Aleksey Viktorovich Rtishchev, head of Russia's radiological chemical and biological defence troops has been sanctioned along with his deputy Andrei Marchenko who will have their assets frozen.
The Joint Stock Company Federal Scientific and Production Centre Scientific Research Institute of Applied Chemistry has also been sanctioned for supplying chemical agent grenades to the military.
The grenades being used in Ukraine is against the Chemical Weapons Convention.
Prime Minister mentioned that two British residents have sent over $120 million of electronics to Russia through various companies.
Sir Keir Starmer highlighted that the sanctions are hitting hard and emphasized the continued commitment to tightening sanctions against Russia.
