I lived and taught bilingually in Switzerland for the latter part of my career.After my retirement and my mother's funeral, I had the chance to remain in the family home in the UK, but I felt like a foreigner in Britain.So I decided to settle in the old farmhouse in France that my late husband and I had somewhat enthusiastically bought many years before with hopes of renovation.
