Peace in Europe can no longer be treated as a default condition. Europe must be strong enough to stand on its own when needed and must pull all available levers to reach the best position before history moves on. Europe and its partners should align priorities to step up defense, because capabilities matter more than spending alone. Many assumptions behind older security architecture are no longer valid. Bureaucratic obstacles can cause Europe to lose time, while Ukraine shows rapid innovation through accelerated procurement and production. Drones are developed in many versions, delivered directly to the frontline, tested within days, and followed by quick feedback loops. Flexibility and speed are required to achieve results in the shortest possible time during conflict.
"It is something that we in Europe have lost through many regulatory measures that are necessary in peacetime, but of course in conflict you have to be flexible and achieve the results in shortest possible time. I visited Ukraine a number of times, and also companies producing drones. They are producing them in a vast variety of versions, sending them straight to the frontline, testing in days, and having feedback in companies again in days. So the pace goes well bey"
