"Ishiba's foundations within the party are very weak," said Hiromi Murakami, a professor of political science at the Tokyo campus of Temple University. "He said he had no intention of calling for a snap election, yet under pressure, he changed his stance, which raises concerns about his leadership and stability within the LDP."
"Ishiba faces major challenges including China’s growing power and the North Korean nuclear threat, which complicate his position as Prime Minister. His leadership will be tested in addressing these pressing security issues while also securing the support of his party."
