EU asylum and migration pact has passed despite far right and left's objections
Briefly

EU's new migration and asylum pact, developed over almost a decade to address the 2015 migration crisis, faced objections from far-right and far-left parties along with numerous human rights organizations.
The pact includes measures such as creating border centers, redistributing asylum seekers among member states, and controversial practices like sending asylum seekers to non-EU countries and collecting biometric data from children as young as six.
Despite backing from the main political groups in the European Parliament, the pact encountered resistance from national parties unwilling to support their opponents' agendas.
Over 160 rights organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, criticized the pact, warning that it could lead to increased suffering, reduced protection, and more violations of rights.
