Whale alleged to be Russian spy' died after stick became lodged in its mouth, say police

A beluga whale named Hvaldimir, thought to be a Russian spy due to its harness, died with a stick lodged in its mouth, not from gunshot wounds.

The whale's autopsy showed no evidence of human activity leading to its death, contrary to claims made by animal rights groups alleging it was shot.
