The attack late Thursday in Jit was the latest in a string of assaults by settlers on Palestinian communities - violence that has spiked since Hamas fighters from Gaza attacked Israel on Oct. 7.
Rashid's mother, Eman, described her son as a typical young man who liked working on computers. "He wanted to travel. He wanted to marry," she said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attack, stating that he took the riot "seriously" and vowed to prosecute "any criminal act."
The IDF described the events in Jit as a "serious incident" and announced that they were investigating alongside Israeli police and Shin Bet.
