'We didn't win, but we tried' - Tim Wellens attempts mission impossible at Kuurne with long late break
Briefly

In Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, Tim Wellens made a daring breakaway attempt for the second consecutive year, this time partnering with Stefan Bissegger. Their move of 50 kilometers was noteworthy but ultimately thwarted as they were caught by the chasing pack. Wellens reflected on the strategy post-race, asserting it was necessary to avoid a sprint finish and expressed optimism despite the outcome. This year’s effort showed determination but highlighted the impact of tactical nuances and competition, particularly the potential difference had Wout van Aert joined them in the pursuit to the finish.

It was a nice group but the bunch was never that far behind. I tried to get things going by shaking off some of the other guys.
