"We may witness elections while the candidates are in prison," said Romdhane Ben Omar, the spokesperson of the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights, raising concerns about the democratic integrity of the upcoming elections.
"By disregarding the decision of the administrative court on the admission of the three other candidates, the election process has ultimately been delegitimized," noted Heike Loschmann, emphasizing the erosion of democratic processes in Tunisia.
