Ireland is set to enjoy warm and predominantly sunny weather today, with temperatures possibly reaching 25C, closely approaching the all-time April record of 25.8C set in 1984. While some areas might experience sporadic showers and isolated thunderstorms, these will be limited. Met Éireann forecasts that this pleasant weather will last throughout the bank holiday weekend into mid-next week, although cooler temperatures should be expected later in the week, with average highs remaining above usual.
Met Éireann forecaster Michelle Dillon said the good weather will remain "throughout the bank holiday weekend and out to the middle of next week".
The temperatures could surpass the all-time April record of 25.8C in Glenties, Donegal in 1984.
