TD Peadar Toibin: I was offered a meeting with Vladimir Putin and invited to stay at a luxury hotel in Moscow

Meath West TD Peadar Tóibín disclosed that he was approached in 2017 with an offer to visit Moscow, which included a stay at a luxurious hotel and a meeting with President Putin, but he found the proposal to be too 'strange' and ultimately rejected it.

Tóibín expressed his concerns regarding the legitimacy of such offers and urged all Irish politicians to clarify whether they had been offered similar opportunities, stating, 'It’s crucial for transparency in politics that we maintain a clear stance against questionable invitations, especially those linked to foreign powers.'
