Russian forces have made significant advances in a narrow corridor in eastern Ukraine, bypassing Ukrainian forward lines, despite increased resistance by Ukrainian troops.
Moscow's ministry of defence claimed Ukrainian troops fled Ocheretyne in small groups under heavy fire, with video footage showing destroyed buildings and deserted streets.
