On the second anniversary of Greece's deadliest rail accident, tens of thousands are expected to protest against systemic failures and government responsibility for the tragedy. The disaster, which resulted in 57 deaths, primarily of students, has sparked outrage and accusations of deception towards Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis's government. Activists and opposition leaders criticize the government’s response, including suspicious cleanup decisions that hindered investigations. Protests coincide with nationwide strikes, reflecting widespread public desire for accountability and justice for the victims' families.
What we are seeing is a river of outrage swelling by the minute. Citizens feel duped. They want answers, they want justice and they want to support the families of the victims.
The government did everything they could to conceal their political responsibilities. I will file a motion of no confidence in the government next week.
