On Saturday, a partial solar eclipse will be visible across a significant portion of the Northern Hemisphere, including parts of Europe, northeastern North America, and northwest Africa. This eclipse is the first of the year and will last around four hours. The Moon will cover about 90% of the Sun's disc at peak viewing times, particularly from northeastern Canada and Greenland. Skygazers are urged to use proper eye protection to avoid vision damage while viewing the event, as even small obscurations cannot be safely observed without precautions.
It will last around four hours from 0850 GMT to 1243 GMT.
Because that shadow will remain in space, there will not be a total eclipse anywhere on Earth.
