Netanyahu said that if the IDF were to leave the corridor, it would mean giving in to Hamas. The prime minister insisted that he is not willing to give up on the Israeli presence there.
Leaving the corridor would mean reducing the pressure on Hamas, adding that the Israeli presence will not end until a mechanism is found to prevent Hamas from rearming.
"Bring me anyone who will actually show us ... that they can actually prevent the recurrence" of smuggling, he said. "I don't see that happening right now."
