In Brussels, a manhunt is ongoing for two masked gunmen who opened fire with rifles outside the Clemenceau metro station. The early morning incident involved no reported injuries, although it caused panic as the assailants wielded weapons resembling Kalashnikovs and fired indiscriminately. The incident occurred near the Clemenceau metro station in the Anderlecht district of southwest Brussels, where two masked gunmen opened fire with rifles.
Security camera footage showed two masked men holding what appear to be Kalashnikov rifles, walking around the sidewalk and firing indiscriminately.
Willemien Baert indicated that the attack did not appear to be motivated by terrorism, as no injuries were reported.
Due to the shooting, two metro stations, Clemenceau and Gare du Midi, were closed for about four hours while law enforcement investigated.
