Kosovo closes two of four border crossings with Serbia after protests
Briefly

Kosovo has closed two of its four border crossings with Serbia due to masked extremist groups selectively blocking transit for travelers. This action came following protests in Serbia against the closure of parallel administrations set up by ethnic Serbs in northern Kosovo. The closures at the Brnjak and Merdare crossings were enforced overnight, leaving at least two other crossings open.
Serbian demonstrators blocking the crossings expressed that they would continue this action until their demands were met: the withdrawal of Kosovo police from the north, and returning the administrative institutions to Serbs. They highlighted the ongoing tensions due to the parallel systems that the Serbian government has established for the ethnic Serb population in Kosovo, which receive support from Belgrade.
