EU agrees tariffs on Russian, Belarusian grain imports from July

The tariffs on grain and agricultural products from Russia and Belarus by the EU are aimed at halting imports to prevent destabilization of the grain market and curb Russian funding of aggression against Ukraine.
The EU wants to squeeze Russia out of everything, as stated by Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, indicating disapproval of the new tariffs.
Vincent Van Peteghem, the Belgian finance minister, explained that the new tariffs aim to stop grain imports from Russia and Belarus into the EU to avoid destabilizing the market and curb Russian aggression funding.
